Lift8 is suitable for emergency communications to lifts, including Fireman’s requirement, and also for evacuation lifts and landing communication (up to 56 landings). A highly modular elevator communication system, where the two-wire bus makes the 2N Lift8 readily installable in any elevator context. This means that when it comes to providing for emergency elevator communications you won’t have to trouble with putting in new cabling. 2N Lift8 meets all the applicable EU standards. Lift8 is based on simple, 2-wire technology and is designed to provide emergency call communications, and 3-day test calls for up to 8 lifts. The first lift and its shaft units can be wired directly to the Lift 8 Central Unit, but the 2nd thru 8th lift require Lift8 Splitters and those splitters use a 6-wire bus to the Central Unit and can be placed adjacent to it from which all the remaining lifts and shaft units are connected with 2-wires.

Lift8 for evacuation communications:
A 2N® Lift8 Central Unit can be utilized for Main Elevator Evacuation Floor (MEEF) to Evacuation lift communication using the Fireman’s type priority call logic for the MEEF lift intercom. One Lift8 Central Unit can support either a Fireman’s lift or an Evacuation lift, plus a further seven regular lifts. To support Lift8 landing intercoms a Lift8 Central Unit needs to be dedicated for that purpose and the MEEF intercom to all landings (Lift 8 audio units with button & faceplate mounted using wall-boxes) can either be a low-cost machine room (MR) type unit, or a more user-friendly IP desk-phone, possibly with expansion module for easy landing call shortcuts. Use of an MR phone for this does not require any comm’s module while the IP phone currently requires the VoIP module, until Q1-2025, when that functionality will be integrated without a comm’s module.
